"There must be a full investigation into the incident by the Federal Government. Measures need to be taken with a joint collaboration with government and the UN authorities to ensure that the UN mission continues in its mission to bring development to the people," the UN Resident Coordinator in Nigeria, Daouda Toure, said.
Mr. Toure, who made the demand while presenting an update on the incident, said death toll from the attack now stands at 23, consisting 11 United Nations (UN) staff, (10 Nigerians and one Norwegian), nine non-UN staff and three unidentified persons.
Apart from 73 others who received various degrees of injuries and are currently receiving treatment at different hospitals around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Toure said eight other UN staff members on life support as well as four who were critically injured were evacuated in an air ambulance to South Africa on Sunday and Monday respectively" (click link to view complete article)
